Changing header image - when all this is new ...

Postby Cathy2 » Tue Jan 22, 2013 4:21 pm

Hi,

I have a Jaws based website using a modified gray template. The person who put it together has moved on and unavailable.

Our header has a pesky spelling error. I have a corrected jpg image to install, though I don't know where to locate and change the image in place now. Once I find it, I will resize it and exchange.

I saw on a similar query, they were asked to right click on the image to get the url. No luck.

I have picked my way through the Jaws administrator panel, but could not figure out where this may be.

I looked at the database via my webhost and could not figure out. I did solve one issue: I removed over 20,000 trackbacks that appeared to be spam and I had been removing slowly 10 at a time ... what is the purpose of trackbacks anyway?

What is most important to be is exchanging the header on the template.

Thanks!

Regards,
Cathy

in gray theme top header image defined in style.css, you can find code same as below:
Code: Select all
#top_header {
height:153px;
color:rgb(75,75,75);
text-align: left;
background: rgb(105,173,249) url(images/top.png) repeat-x;
}

you can change it.

jaws trackbacks feature still not support spam filtering, so if you like can disable it via Blog gadget settings tab

Hi,

I found where the image was stored: public_html/data/themes/gmfa/images

I exchanged files and now the horrors of a misspelled word is in the past!

Thanks!

HI,

My other cosmetic issue I would like to resolve:

At our website: http://www.greatermidwestfoodways.com/ at the very bottom of every page there is a solid color bar with the words 'Entries of.'

I am the originator of this flaw via the control panel, though for the life of me I cannot locate where I did it to undo it. This is a modified version of the gray template.

Thanks!

Regards,
Cathy

Hi,

This is a screen shot of that panel:

Which element and how do I open it? I guestimate it is blocks, though what is the trick to open and find that phrase to delete it.

Thanks!
