Upgrading an older Jaws website

Postby Cathy2 » Fri Sep 20, 2013 3:16 am

Hi,

I have a website whose Jaws platform has not been upgraded since acquired in March, 2009. There has been a surge of activity, which our webhost assumes we have been attacked in some fashion. Our webhost stopped activity to avoid compromising a server. If you need to know the precise version, please advise where to look for it.

I did enter the backdoor. I checked the backtrack for the blog (whatever does that backtrack do?) and removed 28,000+ uninvited residences. This may be what created all this over the top traffic at our website.

I have backed up the database of this website.

How do I upgrade this software with the least amount of problems?

I have seen the instructions to overwrite the database, though what I have is pretty much online. I have access to the back of the house files via phpmyadmin. I need quite precise instructions to do this.

Thanks!

Regards,
Cathy
