MDB2 Error: connect failed, Native code: 1045

Hi there,

I am trying to install Jaws 0.8.9 on my webhosting machine. at step #3 of installation I received this:

Directive Recommended Actual Result
File Uploads Yes Yes OK
Safe mode Off On BAD
GD/ImageMagick extension Yes GD OK
Exif extension Yes Yes OK
data/themes directory Writable rwx---r-x OK

Bu think it should not be a problem.

before step #4 I manually create database (tried mysql from version 4.0, 4.1, 5.0), so I know exactly the username, passwd and name of the database.

at step #4 I am still receiving this:

MDB2 Error: connect failed : _doconnect: [Error message: Access denied for user: 'matosoutin_biz@10.10.11.66' (Using password: YES)] [Native code: 1045] [Native message: Access denied for user: 'matosoutin_biz@10.10.11.66' (Using password: YES)]

Where is the issue? How can I fix it?
I have no permission to fix DB server (hosting company)

Thanks a lot,

Matos

create a database manually in mysql server, and grant access to it for your mysql user

Thanks for reply.

How can I grant the access? I am using phpMyAdmin, but no idea how to do it. I can create database only via some web interface, where it asks for a name of database, user of database and passwd .. :-(

I don't know, how to access in php admin but I know that when you setup your php, you will get admin login with them as well.

You should contact your internet service provider (=your website hoster) to give you the link of phpmyadmin

That's typically due to user access, which is a simple fix. After database creation, you'll need to create a user account, which you then assign to the database of choice, giving it full access in most cases.

i had this sort of thing after a upgrade from debian 6 to 7.

turns out mysql had truncated my longer mysql user names down to ~8 chars. so once i update my jaws config with that new username , it works
