Thank you for your constant work, Ali, and your support in this forum, exceptionz. :)
Can either of you or somebody else please post a safe tutorial for upgrading Jaws? I won't make the same mistake again by crushing the cms some years ago. I've looked in this forum and I know there are some tutorial threads. But I don't know how up-to-date they really are...

Thank you for your help, exceptionz.
But this thread confuses me... There are two upgrade instructions. Which of them should I use?

Also, this whole thing with *overwriting existing files* scares me. Because I have altered the coolwater theme with altered graphics and some changes inside of style.css.

I wonder, if all these changes are gone after the upgrade.

Ok just upgrade like this:

0. Backup your database!
0,1. Rename the "coolwater" theme in the official download to "coolwater official"
1. Overwrite all files with new files
2. Try to access your website, then automatically upgrade wizard appears (very similar to the install wizard)
3. Follow the upgrade wizard
4. Upgrade gadgets after you logged in to your administration panel
5. End

Ok, thank you again for your help and assistance, exceptionz.
I'm quite happy that you are around here. Before your appearance this forum hasn't any ACTIVE mods... :?

I will try this out and if there are still problems, I will come back to you.
Today I've asked myself: Do I even need this new version? What are the benefits?

Greetings!

Thank you! :)
I think except the grouping option for static pages, this release contains bugfixes in the main. But: Yes, you should upgrade to this version if you are running a productive Jaws site...

Thank you for your angelic patience, exceptionz. ;)
Can I ask you one more question? As one can see, I am not a pro at this kind of stuff.

So my question is primarly concerned with the database backup... After clicking on that snazzy button in the admin panel, I have now a nice zip file with interesting content. How exactly is that useful for me? What can I do with this backup archive? Is that the current state of my website?
