[Resolved]php not working with Jaws

Postby pilage » Mon Jun 08, 2009 1:53 pm

I posted this in install but now that i think about it it seems more of a server/php/Jaws issue.
http://forum.jaws-project.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=1409 instead of repostin the whole thing here it is....maybe the mods can move it if appropriate.

Thanks

Pilage

Think its a spawn-fcgi issue.
Try to install PHP-FPM as a replacement for spawn-fcgi.

Look here : http://www.softwareprojects.com/resources/programming/t-how-to-install-php-fpm-spawn-fcgi-replacement-1602.html

I actually use the php-fpm. I tried to manually use the spawn-fcgi scrips from lighttp, couldnt get those to work. In Gentoo they created a package install for those scripts, could not get those to work either. finally (not to go into how Gentoo works) someone put an ebuild together that put the php-fpm patch into it and then my php finally worked. After redoing everything)multiple times) I ended up with php5 only on the server. this broke a few of the sites on the server. I went to add php4 back on the server and found it had been deprecated and was no longer available for install(without a HUGE hassle). I was able to work on the sites, do some updates, fix some code here and there and got those sites working again. so i do have multiple php sites of different flavors running on the server

I will go back into the server see if there is some lingering code from the spawn-fcgi that maybe causing issues. I checked while writing this and the spawn-fcgi program is NOT installed but I will dig deeper into the configs see if something is there.

thanks

there was a couple of settings in the fastcgi-params config file that looked like this
Code: Select all
fastcgi_param  SCRIPT_NAME        /etc/nginx/spawn-fcgi;
#fastcgi_param  SCRIPT_NAME        $fastcgi_script_name;

I changed it to this and all is well
Code: Select all
#fastcgi_param  SCRIPT_NAME        /etc/nginx/spawn-fcgi;
fastcgi_param  SCRIPT_NAME        $fastcgi_script_name;

thanks for your time
